Welcome to Ashfield Tae Kwon Do.

I would ask you download and save this new student packet.  This packet includes Martial Arts Lineage, permission and waiver forms, fee schedule, rules of etiquette in the Do Jang, beginning descriptions of self defense and one steps.

After you have reviewed its contents, please return the signed portions to me. I hope you have a great experience in training in the Martial Arts and look forward to seeing you in the Do Jang!

For students and parents of students who have already been here for a while, I need to update my information so I would ask that you take the time to fill out and sign the portions for each one of your family members who is a student.

Thanks for taking the time to help out.

Sincerely,
Roger Lynch

TERMINOLOGY

Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art.  Therefore it is important to respect the country of origin by endeavoring to learn some of its language.  Clearly when Americans teach Americans another language much is lost in terms of pronunciation and actual meaning.  Although I learned Korean while I lived in Korea I have to admit that it is a difficult language and hard to pass on.  However, students will find in many schools they may study in that Korean is used for most of the basic commands and so it is with that in mind that I list what I believe to be the most essential of Korean words as used in the Do Jang.

You may download this list here if you wish.
